Douglas M. Warner, P.E.

Douglas M. Warner, P.E.As Principal of Element Design Group, Doug is focused on blurring the lines between the creative and technical aspects of Element’s projects, and places high priority on fostering successful client relationships.  Doug has been with Element from its inception in 2004, and has helped bring Element to the forefront of innovative design and engineering throughout the state with an emphasis on the coastal region.  With over twenty years of experience in residential, commercial, industrial, and transportation projects, his expertise spans the breadth of his discipline, from both civil and structural applications to business operations.  Doug’s holistic and hands-on approach is fully embraced by Element’s clientele, peers, and staff and is considered the hallmark of Element’s design approach.

Prior to Element, Doug worked engineering and business activities with Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation in New Jersey and ILC Dover in Delaware.  Doug has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering from Rutgers University and Masters Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from Widener University. He holds professional engineering licenses in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey and has NCEES certification.

 

 

David M. Kuklish, P.E.

David M. Kuklish, P.E. - David joined Element Design Group in July 2005 as the Senior Engineer and Program Manager of the Civil Engineering Department.  With over 14 years of commercial and residential land development civil engineering experience, he directs the daily production of all professional services and manages all civil projects, including residential subdivisions, commercial land developments, and mixed-use projects.  In addition, David assists the architectural team in providing site feasibility studies and grading/stormwater drainage solutions for their designs.

David’s responsibilities at Element are varied and many: zoning feasibility studies, conceptual & final site plan layout, including pedestrian and vehicular circulation and ADA compliance review, grading, wet & dry utility design, construction details, erosion & sediment control design, stormwater management design, road design, forest conservation planning, wetland coordination & planning, landscape and lighting design, traffic control plan preparation, construction management, and guiding these projects through the appropriate approving agencies, resulting in full zoning, permit and construction documents.  Some of the types of projects David has managed include: service stations/convenience stores, retail/restaurant establishments, commercial shopping centers, storage facilities, and residential subdivisions.

David received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from West Virginia Institute of Technology.  He is a Professional Engineer registered in Delaware, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and has NCEES Certification.

Leonardo Schubert, RA/NCARB, MBA

Leonardo Schubert, RA/NCARB, MBA

Leonardo Schubert, RA/NCARB, MBA – Leonardo is a Registered Architect in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Florida and has extensive experience in 3D rendering utilizing AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite among other applications.

Leonardo’s inspiration and design philosophy comes from his many travels and work locales.  From interning in Naples, Italy to Project Architect in Coral Gables, Florida, from consulting for luxury residences in Humacao, Puerto Rico to institutional projects in Wilmington, Delaware, Leonardo’s passion of architecture is clearly visible in every project.

At Element, Leonardo is the Lead Architect on all projects involving architectural design, from residential to commercial, including institutional projects.  His previous experience in governmental projects, along with his expertise in 3D modeling will help Element expand the breadth and width of the services we offer.

Prior to Element, Leonardo worked as a Project Architect in Coral Gables, Florida and as an Architect/Consultant in Wilmington, Delaware.  He attained his Bachelor of Architecture at Temple University and his MBA at Carlos Albizu University in Mimai, Florida.  Leonardo is a Registered Architect in the states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Florida.

Eric W. Wahl, RLA, ASLA

Eric W. Wahl, RLA, ASLA

Eric W. Wahl, RLA, ASLA – Eric is the Landscape Architect at Element Design Group (EDG).  He joined EDG in 2008 and has successfully bridged both the engineering and architecture departments, teaming with the engineering staff in land planning, commercial landscape designs, and conservation planning while assisting the the architectural designers in providing lot feasibility studies and complete landscape packages for new homes, including low-impact and sustainable designs.

Eric strives for a balance between the built and the natural environments.  With an eye towards ecological awareness, Eric’s designs lean toward sustainability and foster an ecological stewardship.  He is experienced in total site planning, from concept through design-development, including zoning code review and interpretation, wayfinding analysis, multi-modal transportation planning, park design, and planting design.  He also uses his graphic skills in developing much of the marketing items for EDG and many of the illustrative renderings that help support the architecture team.

Eric holds a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Temple University, and is a registered Landscape Architect in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.  He is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, and was recently appointed President of the Delaware Board of Landscape Architecture.  Eric is also Vice-President of the Delaware Native Plant Society, and will be helping to teach a course on Sustainable Sites at Delaware Technical & Community College in Fall 2012.
